A poem I wrote in class in the fall, inspired by the poem "The first day" but related to me a lot more closely.

What I could write when feeling so down and out. I am determined to let my depression turn into something beautiful.

Your light is fading away.

I was with you at the end.

This poem describes how I "lose myself" in thought and how now, since my thoughts are fading away, I keep thinking about all the time I’ve lost and how I am going to make up for that time being lost and start fresh.

A response to the samurai haiku challenge posted by Philly Dreamer. I’m assuming that the two haiku are meant to be back to back representations of opposing natures. I decided to meld the opposing natures into one haiku for two separate ideas.

Yes, the title is meant to be spelled Duel Natures!
