Poetry.

This is a poem writing back in 1982 and is the response of the writer to living in a home with alcoholics in the mist. Mostly, it deals with the love – hate relationships that were going on in the home and the fighting that went on only when alcohol had taken an active role. The poem gives meaning to what the writer viewed as a normal family day.

A poem that strongly resembles my feelings, attitude, and my life as it sits at this moment.

Things break down when everything is left unsaid.

When you feel the need to prove to yourself, that you’re not what they assume you are.

Your struggle is pointless.

Despite the fact that you will probably never read this.

You lost your fighting spirit towards the end.

Don’t think you’ll take my rights and my country, because I’ll go down swinging and shooting!
