A short poem about bonfire night.

I must admit, I am not one for this day. Only really enjoy the Disney fireworks display!!!

November 5th in Great Britain remembers Guy Fawkes and friends when they were caught trying to blow up King James 1st in the Houses of Parliament in 1605. We know it as “The Gunpowder Plot”. We celebrate it with a bonfire on top of which an effigy of Guy Fawkes is often burnt, and firework displays.

Should fireworks still be sold to the public? Bonfire night is still hugely celebrated here in England and in British colonies around the world.

Just my feelings as I was watching a fireworks show with my wife’s family in the midst of a break up.

My love for you.

When I was nineteen, the man my father referred to as The English Teacher dumped me, intent on doing blonder, shorter, thinner, richer, smarter, quieter…in short, better than what he felt I could offer him and while I did not think that was possible at the time, I hope he did. I know I did.

Everybody loves a good firework display. Nobody will miss the launch of a space rocket. Both are controled energy and force that provides a spectacle.

But only one of the two has a destination…
