I have always enjoyed american football. This is a revised poem about an athletic hero.

An haiku is generally about nature, the beauty and majesty captured in a snapshot of 5-7-5 syllables. A senryu is pretty much the same, except the subject matter centers around the human condition. This little snapshot is about the super-bowl, one of the most watched athletic events in the US. This year’s was a nail biter with the Patriots and the Giants.

After the massacre at Port Said, emotions run high. In Cairo and Suez, the people demonstrate against the inaction of the security forces. There are street battles between police and protesters.
