Sometimes I cry for friends in such anguish that the only thing they feel they can do is cut. Some I know can write and I pray that maybe instead they can write. Some I know haven’t cut yet – and I tell them… based on what I have heard and been told – from cutters and councilors – that the cuts don’t really help and only lead to more cuts. At least for most. Sometimes I wonder if we all might self harm in some way if not with a knife.
