A poem uncovering the beauty of my own home town

A child’s thankfullness and pondering thoughts.

Thoughts of sadness and reflection cross my mind after the death of one of my childrens friends. He was taken way to soon and by the hands of another.

Living with a single mother and moving a lot leads to an interesting story. Here is a short essay about moving to and growing up in a small town, and then coming to realize an appreciation for it.

Going home is a tradition…is it funny?
Every year there’s going home tradition.
Where we live or where we stay
We have to return to the place of birth parents.

This poem took me a small while to put together. The city I’m from is Brooklyn and ALL Brooklyn natives have similar feelings on how they feel of their streets. Brooklyn seems to be my streets. This is pretty much an ode to Brooklyn which all my ideas I worked on took me a small amount of time to put into actual words, organize them into lines and stanzas and form them into a poem.
