This story begins in a seaside town called Waterlily in Coinjock County, North Carolina. On November 16, 1936 Wilbert Woodrow Whitson made his stillborn arrival! His parent’s midwife instructed them to get her a pan of iced cold water and she would pull the lifeless child back to life! The midwife dipped the baby in the water and Wilbert had arrived!

While living in Idaho I was able to go hunting for a big mule deer, in Hells Canyon one of the roughest, toughest terrains in the country. My friend Don and his brothers had horses to ride in on and topack out the deer when they got one.
