Continue ReadingThis poem reflects the ongoing desire and aspiration of so many that wanted a better life here in America. I wrote this poem as a tribute and reminder to so many that wanted to live their lives as they see fit within the means of the law. It is very important to understand that this iconic friendship gesture work of art was given to us by France on October 28, 1886 as a gift to celebrate our 100th anniversary of Freedom and every since then, the Statue of Liberty has been an iconic symbol of freedom and democracy the world over. Emma Lazarus summed it up in her poem, “The New Colossus”.
