Prompt #83 is write a poem about social injustice. Sixth poem in my 100 poems in 100 day series. Not the poem I thought I’d write about the subject, but it’s what came to me and I’m becoming rather attached to it; I might submit it to Concise Delights, a journal of short poetry.

This poem describes the sorrowful legend of Kiku of Himeji Castle in Japan and the impact of this legend on the poet.
