In Mire, the world is a reflection of Earth, each human lives to reflect their Earth doubles in a mirror. Tavi, a thirteen year old girl, has never seemed to conform. Constantly getting into trouble, she finally shatters her mirror in a horrible accident- which sends her whirling to the same unknown fate her father faced years earlier. All the residents of Mire know is that a Watcher cannot exist in Mire without a mirror- and those without disappear. Far from ceasing to exist, Tavi finds a way to escape from her troubles once and for all.
