Suzuki’s message was a hidden prelude to what was in the offing. The purpose of the enigmatic letter, promising salvation, seemed too good to be true and there were those that felt that it was weighty enough to indicate that, perhaps, the smuggling of weapons into Burma might be a distinct possibility, short of war, about which nobody could even hazard a guess so far.

I dedicate this to "Ma Geri" my cyber mom who passed away on August 14th 2002.
