Continue ReadingThis Friday, May 7th, 2010 (the Friday before Mother’s day each year) is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. I decided to write something for all my military wives and spouses who show unrelenting support and encouragement year after year, deployment after deployment. There is no other bond quite like the one that military spouses share with each other. I wrote this to remind myself, and my military spouse sisterhood, that we are among the strong, the brave, and the compassionate. Our job isn’t easy, and we are thought of more often than we think. Especially those times, when out of the blue, someone takes the time to find a stamp to mail you a card just to say "Thank you" and to also "Thank your husband for all he does for our country." Being a Military Spouse, and what we do for our soldiers and our family, is so worth it – just to be able to hear those words of appreciation.
