The problem of the successful mission to Mars is not about how fly there, and how to go back. Delivery of fuel to start from Mars will be very expensive and, from every point of view, impractical. Quite another matter if it’s a one-way expedition. NASA is seriously considering this proposal, and littered with statements of volunteers.
