I started out to write about the news people but my heart took a different direction.

What "war" has been like for one U.S. soldier.

There were some mistakes in this poem when I posted it before. This is the correct version. It is such a special poem and means so much to me that I had to share it in its intended form.

Guard duty was not one of my strong points.
