Me and sister live on the mountain, honey and we wouldn’t live anywhere else in this old world. We have been here all our lives and you wouldn’t believe all the fun we have. One of the things we like is Fox hunting on a moon lit night, Honey, you never heard anything so pretty as them hound dogs yodeling. It just makes the cold chills run up and down your back. Now child, I know I complain about sister, she’s the bull headiest thing you ever saw in your life. We just fuss all the time and sister wont give one inch to save her life. She is one contrary woman and that’s a fact. But we still have a whole tow sack full of fun. (if any of you are from the mountains, this is all in fun.)

"Rocky Top" is played at all U. of Tenn. home football games and is mistakely thought to be the teams’ fight song. The couple was better known for writting 12 hits for the Everly Brothers including two that reached number one on the Billboard charts: "Wake Up Little Susie" and "All I Have To Do Is Dream."
