The Greatest Mother…

“To love someone is nothing, to be loved by someone is something, but to be loved by the one you love is everything” – an aged old quote, but makes us really ponder about the term ‘love’!
“If you are treated well, treat them good.
“If you are treated badly, treat them good.

An Open Hurt.

Back in a philosophy class I had, we’d been given that task of argumenting the proposition which titles this article, "All People Are Selfish."

She is ours. We won’t give her to you.

Mother used to spend her time on praying and serving. She would pray and wait upon the lord.

On a Sunday in January 1985, I photographed Mother Teresa extensively at her convent in Anyang, South Korea. Later, I’d receive about 17 letters from her over a seven-year period. It was inspiring to meet and photograph her, and her letters to me and my son, Matthew, who is half-Korean, are equally important to us. Of course, in order for my son to be born in the first place, some things had to happen in a certain sequence; and they eventually did.

While I worked as a copy editor for South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency (1984-85), I also took a lot of photos independently. David Johns, my friend from Mizzou and Yonhap colleague, and I covered several leading women of Korea, hoping to publish our photo-essay in Life Magazine. I was fortunate at the start, and over the years, later, regarding my photos from those shoots.

Two of my favorite people ever.

Do you know the three Cs of true caring? The caring we receive when we are unwell or a simple gesture of wanting to reach out to us is enough to lessen the burden we are bearing, whether it’s physical or emotional. But it’s a two-way thing; if we know how to receive, we show also know how to give, wholeheartedly.
