Sometimes we are called by our first name. Sometimes we are called by our last names. We all respond to who we think we are and that is how the world goes.

Whether you like it or not, a name marks you for life through no fault of your own. Some persons are named after religious figures, presidents, military leaders, movie actors, scientists, other famous persons, or family members. Some parents are creative and pull a name out of the thin air for their child.

This is an essay about my name, which is very unusual and unique and how its a blessing to have such a name.

A piece of identity is important to have. It is more important to have a piece of identity, because of loss of memory among the older population. It is important to address a person by his name.

A poem I woke up in the middle of the night and just wrote down.

A name can tell who you are for example. There are people, who are named after places, therefore they belong to the bourgeoisie or to the middle class. There are others who are named after countries, therefore they are nobles or orphans. There are names which express feelings and those are African names.

There are names like Autumn or Fall, the first one is a Native name the second one is a Senegalese name. They both sound English but they etymology says a lot on their respective origins. Autumn is a characteristic of the North American society and Fall sounds like Niagara Falls and water is an important element in African society particularly sahelien societies because it is the woman who most of the time cultivates the soil because of her medium height.
