Continue ReadingThe highest value of selfhood is often held to be authenticity, self realization or
self actualization (i.e., Maslow). To be true to oneself is a morally preferred way to be and act in the world so as to be valued as a good person. But those who hold this view must assume one of two things: That human nature is inherently good, that left to its own devices, uncorrupted by external influences, human beings would develop their potential for achieving ‘the good life’. But what is this, and who can say? Given that at the base of humanity may lie the horror of our evil potential, one could value and pursue what is evidently evil to others who may not have developed their ‘evil potential’ and therefore do not recognize it when they see it or even know they are under its influence or manipulation.
In the narcissist’s mind intercourse, silent treatment and withdrawal of intimacy are precursors to happiness. He will do absolutely anything to ensure that a woman is dissatisfied. In the narcissist mind I am merely a toy for him to play with.

Continue ReadingIt seem the more I associated with him; pieces of my vivacity and vim were eaten away. It was evident that the conversations with this toxic individual were affecting me. I quickly conceded that this was exactly how I would feel if I was involved with a narcissist, emotionally drain and psychologically teetering on sanity. Thank god!
