Every so often a dream visits me that shakes me to the core. I spend too much time thinking about them, and that is why I am a full time daydreamer….

During December 1967 record snowfalls fell on New Mexico in a blizzard that would eventually claim the lives of 51 people. Snow fell almost continuously in the northern part of the state for two weeks leaving a depth of feet five in some areas.

Charles Goodnight was the co-founder of one of the most important cattle drive trails in the southwestern United States. He died on the 12th of December 1929 at the age of 93.

We are familiar with the hamac on the American and Mexican border where the men sleep in the afternoon. We know about the vacationers in the Carribean Sea who spend the hot seasons on the beaches eating fruits. We know about the pilgrims who go to the eternal town of Jerusalem to pray and find comfort for those who are in pain.

Day three of my journey.

This is a short story based upon the experience of a Cytologist that was called in to investigate a strange crash in New Mexico during July 1947.
