Although it is short in length, I’ve been working on this poem since February of 2007. I started writing it in a class I took at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, that was taught by the infamous Irish poet, Greg Delanty, and was entitled “Poetry Writing Workshop I”. Greg gave me a lot of positive feedback on this particular poem. Furthermore, this poem highlights the use of alliteration and assonance. Lastly, I wrote this poem because I am from the Boston area and have been working in Harvard Square for the past ten summers of my life.
