This is a poem that I wrote for my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary that sums of some highlights in their lives.

In 1917 with the war effort in full swing in Europe ships were sailing across the Atlantic bringing much needed ammunition for the trenches in World War One. On the 6th December two ships collided inside the harbour of Halifax, Nova Scotia and this led to a disaster.

On the fourth day of December in 1872 a small British brig the ‘Dei Gratia’ was sailing under the captaincy of David Morehouse when he spotted another ship close by that was sailing erratically but at full sail. What happened next would result in one of the biggest maritime mysteries ever at sea.
