Here we are – the Olympic Games in China, better known as the Beijing Olympics 2008 – a review by none other than “yours truly”. So, don’t expect the usual “sports” commentary. Mine is about CONNECTIONS, what else!!

We have enough people writing about this very special event in all its glory – some very detailed accounts have been published on the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Winners’ records (like who clocked what, if you like figures), all the tantrums displayed by the less-than-happy runner-ups, alot of heartbreaking moments, etc, etc.

So far there are two types of Olympic games the Winter games every three years and the Summer games every four years. Therefore, one can presume that it is best to practice sports in the summer and in the winter. In the summer you can walk and in the winter you can ski.

There are songs that you sing for a special occasion for example at a wedding, on Christmas day or at an event for example a national anthem at the opening and closing of the Olympic games.

Dance is a good way to exercise. While you dance you can listen to music. Dance helps you to have a good mind in a good body.

The arrival at Kennedy Airport from Moscow airport on July 1996 was very Olympian. New York for an expert looked like the most welcoming place in the world. The West was there and forever mine.

The Olympic games are now over. The time of Olympic games is an exciting and thrilling one at the same time. You have to remember to keep your own pace and to stand for your rights.

One aspect of the Olympic games that is interesting is when the Olympic torch comes from Greece. The Greek civilization was one of the civilization that was well accepted in Egypte. This last country has known the Greek, Latin, the British civilizations and now the Arabic civilization but the French civilization has failed to implement itself because of the controversy of the French Revolution and Napoleon Bonaparte a French military who took power over the Royal Family.

The Olympic games had some hard time with the recent weather. It looks like the wind is part of this weather concern. This a time to reflect about disasters like cold winds which are problem the cause of exodus of some of the Dutch from Holland.

I’m a senior at Beijing University. The Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 is the next two years.
