Polar bears live in the north at all times. However, for the time being faced with people is extremely rare. The situation changed in the late twentieth century.

Animals like the tiger, lion, polar bear and other creatures like vultures and penguins call for immediate conservation measures.

Many animals are endangered by man’s actions on earth. It began when he started encroaching on the wilderness to convert it to farmland.

How Chepi wished to be back home hunting for hares on the beautiful, soft snow that had existed all her life in the Northern America. Chepi hated this new wretched land that her clan walked through, it had clumps of snow covering the ground but there was so little that no animal would live in it. The weather and animals on this new land were just as weird. There were giant animals that looked like seals but were ferocious and bears were so big that one hide could made three shelters. She remembered when the clan had tried to hunt one of them but the bear was too quick. In one slash it killed three of the hunters ripping their bodies like they were sticks…..

We all remember the history lessons about the explorers and what they brought from overseas. What the explorers found hard to bear was the language barrier therefore they had to get a native interpreter and the clergy learned also the local language and produced dictionnaries. The coronation of a career is when you are able to retire in Switzerland and study in Canada where you find the bears and to work in the United States of America where they live too with their famous furs which suggest how warm the coats and hair should be.
