Inspired by a picture. A poem I wanted in a children’s book.

This is a poem about the concept of rainbows and how they are sometimes associated with those who we have loved and lost, who may have been heart-broken and have suffered broken dreams themselves during their final years. We can only hope that now they are part of the rainbow all their dreams have finally come true. The poem also implies that while on this earth, once you have lost that very special person in your life you can never bring them back.
