A poem about reaching out and losing friends and not coping with it.

This is a new poem, describing the pain of seeing ourselves as we really are.

Sometimes people wake up and ask themselves the question why. Why bother to get up every morning? why bother to go to work? why bother to go to school? why bother to make friends? why bother to arrive early? why bother to eat? why bother to do anything really?

A closed world…

Now I don’t know why, but I started to think of things that made me happy (you should try this sometime). What prompted it was thinking how lucky I was
to have a son who for no apparent reason will run over to me and kiss my leg
(that’s as high as he can reach for now) and give me a hug…
