Short story about a man who just came out of prison.

This passage begins with the internal dialog of a young man who doesn’t understand why he is unable to make money in a mining community when he knows where to get the minerals and how to turn them into money. A series of unanswered questions leads him to the unexpected conclusion that language itself might be the cause of his trouble.

I was thinking…what is really real? I mean, should we really consider it the solid truth just because we’re told to? Or is truth just another tool that we’ve failed at? I mean, can we even fully comprehend truth?

The title says it all.

Searching for answers, finding ones I did not expect.

Simple as it can be.
