This is one I just wrote documenting a struggle I went through. It’s pretty straightforward, but if you do not know me, you won’t know some of the poem. Regardless, enjoy! (I formally wrote poems under the name of Demetrias Park, and I wanted to go with my real name…well, almost, as it is not quite my government name.)

Just because you are a child of God, doesn’t mean you must allow yourself to be played for a fool. This poem speaks to those who don’t know how to say no to the unrighteous and encourages believers to stay strong.

I am saying sorry to Jesus today. Are you?

Persistence doesn’t stop you,
From stopping what you hate.
Things you find about yourself
From day to day.

I’ve been warned about the struggle.
But should I be relieved?
That I have Assurance,
That I believe when,

I see no fruit,
Of the man I’m called to be.
I can only hold to the promise,
And cling.

It may be misunderstood for some other sort of meaning like poverty or adoption. However, be forewarned, this poem describes abortion.
