Poem inspired by “Sweeny Todd”…

Since its inception in Greece, democracy has come a long way. As we witness unstable regimes that disappear, as quickly as they appear on the horizon of world politics, we are thrilled to witness our democracy remain unchallenged, in spite of surges of disagreements that, in fact, help reassure its continuity, for the reason that it is based on freedom of expression and never under any kind of political duress.

The poem begins like a lot of people have felt before finding love, lonely and dreaming of a person to come into your life. Ultimately finding it in a far away place but taking the chance for happiness.
