This is a poem about uncertainty in a relationship. I dedicate this to the long nights you lay awake wondering if the next morning the relationship will be over and the pain to begin again. I wrote this on 9-19-2003.

If I could sleep, you could never have read this……

Been awake for 20 hours now. Tried taking a nap earlier, but nothing rested. I tried going to bed around 10:30pm, but two hours later here I am on the internet. My mind races with thoughts. Dreams won’t invade and carry me off to the sandman.

I couldn’t sleep this was going through my head.
