I have to apologise to the ancient China Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai, as my first line here is a direct translation from one of his famous poems, though the rest of the lines, obviously are not.

This is a dark short story based on a haunting dream I had a few months ago. The child, the dark hallway, the monster, and the visions all represent something metaphorically. I believe I was possibly trying to repress memories from my past about a haunted house and that finally my concience no longer wished to store them away. Thus, the dream exercised a way for me to come to terms with the conflict arisen from the memories.
