When young we think we have forever to do all the things we desire. Then one day we find our old bodies will not do the things we wish, our minds cannot stay tuned to one idea for long. It would be for naught should we live such rich lives and not have remember rooms in our mind of past joys, people, and loves. Now that would be a wasted life.

I believe a person’s spirit stays around for a short while after their death.
