Continue ReadingEighteen Syllable Stories is a form of poetry I created. The style is very brief and condensed, often impossible to rewrite as a prose piece, as the grammer is perverted and often times words are merely hinted at and not actually written.
The goal of an Eighteen Syllable Story is to hint at a story without telling it, and to provoke the reader’s thought and consideration. Rarely will two readers interpret an eighteen Syllable Story the same way.
The structure is a simple four lines, three syllables followed by 5, then 7, and then another three to close the poem. Most have one statement in the first three lines with a closing thought in the last line, this particular ESS varies from that norm, however.
I hope you enjoy.
