What matters in youth is self and how it is precieved. The onlookers are strangers who appreciate or not the complexities that make up the human being. Here is a young lady that is being observed, and in reply to the glances, the lady is expressing her thoughts. Since this has been inspired by a picture of a young Indian woman, I have used “wheaten tan” to indicate the race, but it has been a challenge to weave the Punjabi thoughts into English verse.
