My son, who is thirteen, lost a friend last year in a hunting accident…then the 16 year old brother of a close friend night before last. this after losing all of his fathers family between the ages of four and ten…it has made him wise beyond his years, philosophical…and honestly sweet and genuine. I wish he hadn’t been shaped by such pain…but life holds what it holds. We don’t get a choice in some things.
