A Thanksgiving poem about my granddaughters.

Thanksgiving day is an important feast. You receive your friends at that occasion. It is a day to share a meal.

You are a leader because you want to and because others have chosen you to be a leader. Today, is Thanksgiving day in Canada. Canada is a multicultural society and proud to have so many populations want to live in this wide country from the Atlantic Ocean through the Arctic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.

The Indian Summer is at its best colours in America. The sky is clear but there are still some temptations to darken it by some forces which are against mother Earth. It is the end of the month of September and Thanksgiving day will be soon celebrated in Canada.

Today is November 23rd. It will soon be Thanksgiving Day or Columbus day in the United States of America. It is named after Christopher (Christobal) Columbus an explorer from Portugal who discovered the United States of America.

Thanksgiving is a feast which is celebrated in North America. It is a feast to welcome newcomers who come to Canada and the United States of America. The newcomers are generally immigrants or refugees or even seasonal workers and students.

You can hardly believe that this means welcome. In African symbolism it means how to do you prepare a meal or what is your favorite dishes. It is at Thanksgiving day that the newcomers are welcomed.

Thanksgiving day is an occasion to cook great cuisine. There is the traditional turkey stuffed with cranberry and other ingredients. You can add to them sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie which are good for the season.

Thanksgiving day is here soon. It will be a time to show your talents of cooking and baking. A time to invite friends and enjoy the beginnings of the most run to season in North America which is winter in Quebec.

The Grants Pass High School Marching Band was invited to go to New York for the Macy’s 2010 Thanksgiving Day Parade, but you never know what might happen….
