This is a parody written in rhyme and verse to mock the theological doctrine of “Election”. It points an accusing finger back at those who teach that some who think they have salvation may have never been chosen by God in the first place – “before the foundation of the world” (Election). Consequently, they can’t be saved or earn eternal life in heaven forever, despite their desire to do so. It’s a horrid doubt put into the mind of a believer and should most definitely be revisited/reexamined.
