I was thinking of something my grand father said to me years ago when I felt bad for having rough hands he said to me calluses are earned soft hands aren’t when I felt like I didn’t belong because I had to work hard instead of having things handed to me like my cousin.

A wee run for a night by the fire… aye wi flickerin flames tae.

I never learned to sew. I never want to either. I know how to do the simple things, like fixing holes in clothes and sewing the outer fabric to make a pillow. But that is it and always will be all. Sewing is a sit still for long periods activity. I am too wiggly.

When the world rejects me.

If we do what we can with what God gives us, He will give us what we need to do more.
