As a keen observer of times and seasons, I believe that we may have just flipped a new page in history through the recent tragedy in Arizona. Nine-year old Christina Green, a victim of the recent Tucson shooting became the providential seed of a new democracy, by a new generation, for a new people. Her death is a symbolic transfer of the baton to fresh minds and ideals in the race towards the restoration of the glory of a nation in transition.

Another assignment for my AP Language and Composition class. I went out to write a 45 minute “travel writing” narrative from my perspective of some aspect of nature. Tucson’s Rillito River is basically in my backyard, and the familiarity I had with the place really enriched this essay, in my opinion. Hope you all enjoy.

In my AP Language and Composition Class I had an assignment to study some of the creative “travel writing” work by writers like Thoreau and more contemporary creative writers like Annie Dillard. A synthesis was then assigned to write my own “travel narrative” in about ten minutes during class time.
