This poem is about the common idea of "probinsyanos" that working here in Manila means earning gold. Their sons or daughters come here to work as slaves, yet most of their salary is always sent to the province to feed their families and relatives. Unknown to many, living in the province is easier and cheaper than living in the city. It’s just that some of those in the provinces don’t realize it, blaming poverty to God and their parents. It is maybe because they lack education and perseverance, which is why they send their children to Manila to “dig gold”.Continue Reading
