Recently I read a book of short stories titled "An Evening in Lucknow" written by the well-known novelist, scriptwriter, journalist and film-maker Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. Inspired by one of his short stories "The Umbrella", I have penned this narrative. This is also my humble dedication to this remarkable writer who published seventy-three books during his life-span of seventy-three years from 1914 to 1987.

Spring has all its meaning today. We hope there is no flood. We need to be safe and that is why we have to encourage swimming lessons.

Umbrellas are important especially on rainy days. It rains a lot in Asia. Some societies make the usage to carry an umbrella compulsory for example the British one.
