When my children were very little I taught them to be self sufficient. I taught them how to dress themselves, tie their shoes, take a bath, brush their teeth, get their own water, etc. The list could go on and on. But the two most important things I taught them was to “mind your manners” and “respect your elders”. I had assumed that every parent taught their children these elements. I was wrong.
