Kara’s on her way home. She has thoughts of Max, makes some breakfast and finds the hard truth in what she has become.

The races of witches and vampires have been at war with each other since the discovery that vampires could not only gain sustenance from drinking the blood of a witch but absorb their powers for a short time. It has been foretold that a young woman would one day arrive, half vampire and half witch. Possessing unimaginable power, she would finally bring an end to the war.
