Continue ReadingIn March, 2001, my husband was approved for a liver transplant. We waited for the phone call but it never came. He was getting weaker and weaker and fading away day by day. On Veteran’s Day, 2001, I wrote this poem for him and he would ask me from time to time to read it to him. He liked it and felt that his life was as I had wrote. On March 4th, 2002, Mike could wait no longer. His death was a result of agent orange exposure when he served in Vietnam. I hope when he left me the brothers he had been with were waiting to tell him "Welcome Home."
