In memory of all those innocent people killed in this criminal war.

Its a poem I wrote back in 03 protesting the war in iraq.

I wrote this in relation to thinking about the war going on, and wars in the past.
Within the piece, I sort of created a fictional charcter. He has a wife and and a couple of kids. He represents the story, as he is the one telling it.

Thomas Paine spoke vigorously for freedom from oppression but also against those things that would put America at the same level as its oppressors, and let us know that aggressive war has as its enemy the very foundation of freedom itself.

The political campaign is heating up. It’s high time for a change in direction.

This is sad stuff.
