War anyone?

Branching out sometimes as I do..

Lovelessly; it was already dead as I awoke,
prayers could not save me for the words were spoken;
echoes bounced off the walls of the inner core,
frost bitten heart and misfortune foretold;
upon the wretchedness of a broken soul.

War has not changed much.

A costly battle has the narrator and his allies in a stalemate.

Another look at a small town and a blind man who lived there.

Story illustrates a child’s explanation or metaphoric view of a soldier’s experience during the Battle Of The Bulge. Story also includes social interactions with neighbor, soldier, and mother.

It is a little late for remembrance day but it should still have the same message.
