You ask what is this place…

I took a journey into the darkest region known to man,
A cold, dark, desolate place,
That I have come to understand,
Once and only once did I look upon its keepers face,
And what I saw there,
No man would want to see,
Because no man could bear,
That much misery.

Though I’ve been there many times,
Not expecting to return,
But someone somehow pulled me back into the sunshine,
So that I wouldn’t eternally burn,
Within its glimmering fiery domain,
Even the strong, the brave, and the meanest of men
Has felt its eternally consuming pain,
Wishing for its end.

You ask where this place exists,
It’s on the road of impossibilities,
Between insanity and death,
Where dreams of brighter tomorrows die,
And where dreams of eternal love and happiness draw its last breath.

Try hard to understand where I’ve been,
It’s the place of countless others,
Who have committed the ultimate sin,
But if not for my Christian brothers,
It is in this place I would dwell,
You ask what is this place.
It’s the place called hell.

Sounds familiar… I know that place. Lovely job.

Wow! This is terrific. It is dark and creepy and well-written. I can’t wait to read more of your stuff.
    Best Wishes,
