A portrait of the woman I love (Lena Pasqua), written with an energetic rhythm.
They say she’s beautiful
but you know she’s wonderful
She covers her brown eyes
with black hair like a waterfall
She tells it like it is
as she sees it
she tells it like it is
and she can squeeze it
as she smiles at you
there she is
standing in the shadows
wondering at how slow
everything goes
she’s standing at the bank
while the river flows
and she’s walking the trail
following her toes
there’s the weeping willow
and it smiles at her
there are rocks in the water
there are roots in the way
there is rubbish in the current
and the ducks at play
as she smiles for you
the fish are deep
swimming at the bottom
the insects float above
swaying with the motion
as she laughs with you
and there she is again
standing where the sun glows
wondering how fast and slow
everything goes
she’s standing on the carpet
while the river slows
and she’s dropping her clothes
as she ebbs and flows
and here’s her favourite pillow
as she looks at you
