We have all been decieved through Capitalism. Nowadays it has become evidently clear who have gained through this era. Those fat cats who led us into this lefgal crime in the first place. Those Bankers and the Government. Only we were the ones who have been taxed up to the hills and given everything we buy with debt. How decietful is that. No wonder we are all in debt. This should never have happened in the first place. Too much greed leads to disaster and too much material only ends up as waste. We can’t take this with us. So why have we chosen to live only to pay for the rest of our lives.

We are living

Within a world  full

Of uncivilized scums

Why are we still

Sitting underneath their filty thumbs

My heart beats

Louder than those drums

Underneath a rule

Filled with corrupted minds

We all have been made to follow

Who knows!…

We may not live for tomorrow

We were not given a life

Only to borrow

Why should we all live

Underneath this sorrow

No man has a right

To disfigure who we represent

A life lived within Capitalism

Is an explosion

To a wasted life!

The evidence is clear to see!

We have never lived our lives free!

Great job and to the point. We strive to work hard to receive our reward when we retire. And now they are hoping we are dead before we get our just deserve. Everyone is holding their hand out. Take,Take,Take!

Sadly your words are all too true.

Well written, everybody wants, we are headed for a full blown revolution

    Well put, suzan.

Disagree–it is all to borrow–think about it and think about it before you write it again! Our lives for “free!” Good poem! I feel youu displeasue. History had rin it in the rest of the world, the two arrogant countries will, too, see it fall–either thru dipomacy or revolution! History has shown! The wise is only waiting for when–do you know what I mean. I understand you understand that when too many of anything is being produced, something or part will be wasted: Good poem, social commentary, though!

You have mentioned about the evils of capitalism. But all other isms have failed; Of course I agree with you that Capitalism is in need of redemption. But there is a big question mark that lies ahead of us:Who will bell the cat?

  • papaleng on May 22, 2009

    lovely and well-said thoughts.

  • Karen Gross on May 22, 2009

#14 is right – all of the isms have failed. I have no idea which cat needs a bell.

Human governments fail because they are full of humans. Too much freedom, and the greedy and ruthless succeed. Too much control, and the strong and ruthless succeed.

Democracy seems to work best when the country is small and the people in charge have everyone’s best interest at heart, and the citizens are all motivated by a desire to see eveyone succeed. Does a place like that exist?

Let’s face it the U.S. had a good run, but it’s time for a good old fashion revolution.
