Poetry.

This poem is for you crow,

how I hate to see you come only want to see you go.

Your message is never good,

today you bring a broken heart-it must be what it should.

We have much in commom you and I,

you were once the most beautiful of birds until you brought us fire: something good: good why should I try.

I feel you everytime your around,

why could you not have warned me sooner before my heart was bound.

This week you circled over my head,

seeing you filled my insides with dread.

Then only days later you land on my house,

you made me feel as big as a mouse.

It is a lonely road for you and I,

carrying a message of sorrow but at least you can fly.

It is sad for me to picture you wearing the rainbow instead of solid black,

As I see you now it is only color that you lack.

Even though I fear you when you come,

your message is always clear even if I don’t see at first where its from.

You carry something more important than beauty,

you have a certain dignity along with your duty.

I’m sorry our relationship is so one-sided,

maybe your warning would have come sooner if only in you I confided.

You are not an enemy yet not a friend,

but I know who to call when I have a message to send.

I will learn to look to you with respect,

your message I will not neglect.

I thank you crow,

with this message I must grow.

I know now why God did not give you lips,

for message needs no words-how you must get weary from all your trips.

Next time we meet it will be with a smile,

but for my sake please let it be quite awhile.
