Disease and famine continue to prevail in many parts of the world, particularly in parts of Africa, where dictators show no mercy for those whom they single out as pawns to be sacrificed on the alter of greed and self-aggrandizement.
Doubtless, in some countries where the people weep
Being deprived of food and freedom,
Where evil shadows creep,
Tyrants rule unchallenged, nesting in their pleasure,
While their people’s pain and sorrow
Bear not any measure.
Children linger, famished, lagging far behind
Any fair and decent standard
That could steer their minds.
Pleasant dreams might never ever turn to be
Clothed in garbs of unmistaken
Sweet reality.
They that walk in shadows of grave, deadly fear
Know that lackeys might be lurking
Never far but near.
We in our circumstances must not fail to be
Jointly working in a process
That they might be free.
